The Ministry for Culture & Education (Ministerium für Kultur und Bildung) today announced that a cultural reform is to be implemented within Pristinia. While this will cause symbology, terminology and ritual to change, there will be no actual changes to the political system, keeping in line with the National Freedom Party’s consistency pledge. Among the things that are to be reformed are the Pristinian language, the flag, the coat of arms and various other symbols. The language will be completely revamped – this has been announced for the third time; the previous two times it did not actually occur, however, the government is intent on following its announcement this time. The new language will be designed primarily based on Ripuarian, German and the Celtic languages, following the discovery that the area Pristinia is located in was originally inhabited by the Celts.
The leader of the opposition, Humphrey Brockman, was not available for comment, seeing as he was on holiday. However, it is expected that Brockman’s party will be protesting this decision in light of their preference for Germanic and modern standardised Western cultures. Minister Linden has stated pre-emptively that he has “no intention of backing down on this decision” and that it is “absolutely non-negotiable”.
Furthermore, the Ministry has announced its intention to work on Pristinia’s web presence in the near future; it will probably drop Drupal, favouring hand-coded, traditional plain HTML for flexibility reasons.
